Which type of credit card processing account do I use?


One of the most important decisions you will have to make is what type of credit card processing you want to use. There are two choices you have to process your credit cards: Ticket River Payment Account and PayPal Processing. Ticket River Payment Account (3.5%)

New Ticket River Account

The Ticket River payment processing account is recommended for most new event hosts. Setting up a Ticket River account is quick and easy. You will need to provide the person or company to make the check payable to, the billing address, and a phone number. This account collects ticket sales throughout the live sales. Five days after the event is over you will receive a check for the amount of tickets sold. Once you have created a Ticket River Processing Account it will remain connected to your account so you can easily use it for new events by selecting “Use my existing Ticket River account.” You have 30 days from the first ticket purchase to be eligible for a refund on your account.

 

PayPal (1.9% – 2.9% + $0.30)

PayPal Account

There are two advantages to using PayPal to process your credit card transactions. The first advantage is if you already use PayPal processing. In this case it may be easier to continue to use PayPal. The second advantage is if you need ticket sales directly deposited before the event is finished. In this case PayPal will allow you to receive the income from ticket sales as they are purchased. After the event is over Ticket River will then invoice you for the fees collected from the ticket purchasers.
